Warranty Coverage (5 Years)

RCF provides a 5-Year Limited Warranty on cabinet coatings, covering:

• Peeling of coatings
• Blistering of coatings
• Flaking or loss of adhesion

This warranty applies only when failure is the direct result of improper preparation or product failure performed by RCF.

Coating System Expectations – Conversion Varnish

RCF utilizes a professional-grade Conversion Varnish system, the same coating used by many high-end cabinet manufacturers.

This system provides:

• Exceptional durability and hardness
• Strong chemical and moisture resistance
• A smooth, factory-quality finish

However, it is important to understand:

• No coating is indestructible
• Conversion varnish is highly durable, but not bulletproof

The finish can still be damaged by:

• Impact (sharp or heavy objects)
• Repeated abrasion
• Excessive moisture or standing water
• Harsh chemicals or improper cleaning
• High-traffic contact areas over time

These conditions fall under normal use and wear, not coating failure.

What Is NOT Covered (Normal Wear & Tear)

Cabinetry is a high-use surface, and wear over time is expected. The following are not considered defects and are excluded from warranty coverage:

• Chips, dings, or dents from impact (pots, pans, dishes, etc.)
• Scratches from daily use, cleaning, or abrasive materials
• Wear around handles, knobs, and high-touch areas
• Grease buildup or staining from cooking environments
• Damage from water exposure, steam, or excessive moisture
• Damage from harsh or improper cleaning chemicals
• Fading, yellowing, or color change over time
• Interior shelf wear or abrasion from stored items
• Marks or damage caused by pets
• Damage from moving appliances or cabinetry contents
• Any misuse, neglect, or abnormal use conditions

High-Use Areas – Trash Can Cabinets And Under-Sink Areas

Trash can cabinets, under-sink areas, and related components are subject to extreme daily use, repeated impact, moisture exposure, and contamination.

This includes doors, drawer fronts, and face frames associated with pull-out trash systems and under-sink areas.

Because of these conditions, these areas naturally experience more wear and tear than standard cabinetry and may show signs of aging, finish wear, or deterioration at an accelerated rate. This is considered normal use-related wear for these high-stress areas and does not indicate coating failure.

Wood Movement & Construction Limitations

Cabinets are constructed from natural wood products that expand and contract with temperature and humidity changes.

RCF does not warranty:

• Cracking at seams, joints, or corners due to wood movement
• Separation at panel joints or frame transitions
• Caulking failure caused by thermal expansion or contraction

Cabinet Doors – Important Note

Cabinet doors are typically constructed from five separate pieces of wood (rails, stiles, and center panel), which naturally move independently.

• RCF does NOT caulk cabinet doors
• Caulking these joints will inevitably crack due to movement
• Our coating system forms a hard, durable shell, and any movement beneath it will telegraph through.

Wall Cabinets / Structural Movement

Wall cabinets may also shift or move over time due to original installation methods, settling of the home, wall movement, subfloor movement, framing changes, or structural settling. This movement can create stress at seams, joints, caulk lines, and adjoining surfaces.

RCF does not warranty cracking, separation, or finish stress caused by cabinet shifting, structural movement, or changes in the home itself.

This is normal and expected behavior resulting from natural material and structural movement, and is not a coating failure.

Touch-Ups & Maintenance Services

RCF finishing systems are designed to be serviceable over time.

While normal wear is not covered under warranty, RCF offers:

• Professional touch-ups for chips, scratches, or worn areas
• Finish refreshing in high-use zones
• Maintenance services to extend the life of cabinetry

These services are not included under warranty coverage and are considered standard maintenance, billed at RCF’s current service rates.

Care & Use Expectations

To maximize the life of your finish:

• Allow 30 days for full cure before heavy use or cleaning
• Clean with mild soap and water only
• Avoid abrasive pads, solvents, or harsh chemicals
• Wipe spills and moisture promptly

RCF Position

RCF installs one of the most durable cabinet coating systems available. However, cabinetry is a functional surface in a working environment—not a static finish.

Over time, signs of use are expected.

This warranty covers true coating failure, not the natural aging or wear associated with everyday use.
