I recently moved into a home in St. Louis County that needed a lot of work. It had been on the market for 475 days, and vacant for more than 300 days, but I saw potential beauty in the home. As I had lived for years in an apartment/condo, I did not know any contractors. Fortunately, my experienced home inspector recommended Dustin Whitsett and his company, RCF. Dustin walked every inch of the property with me, inside and out. He came back with a comprehensive estimate of what needed to be done, and what it would cost. I was very impressed with his attention to detail, and the ways that he could save me money on this huge project. Dustin assembled the finest group of craftsmen I have ever seen. They included super painters who painted the entire home, interior and exterior, including the 20-foot and 30-foot ceilings, and all the multi-dimensional cuts in this very unique home. They both listened and advised as we selected the various paint colors. The finished look is spectacular. Dustin also served as the contractor for the men who tore out a kitchen and totally redesigned and replaced it, and tore out a second kitchen, moving and restoring the cabinets to create a beautiful family room bar. Someone told me I should replace my deck at a cost of $16,000, but Dustin’s men instead replaced 42 boards, secured the posts, power-washed and stained the decking, providing me with a like-new 62-foot deck for less than $5,000. They handled just about everything–weatherproofing, gutters, shingles, hanging of artwork, even removing a birds nest from a wall and sealing up the hole. I was impressed that the men always arrived on time, and worked safely in a home featuring stairs, glass, and very high ceilings. To balance this, I probably should find something to complain about, but I really can’t think of anything. Suffice to say, RCF beautifully painted and restored this home for “the ol’ sportscaster” who would have received a Zippo Award for the worst attempt to remodel if I had attempted to do this myself. I cannot thank Dustin and RCF enough.
